Prey!

Hai! I enjoyed the first two movies in the Predator series, but I was less enamored with the later ones. However, I was impressed by the purreview trailer for this latest one, which was released on the Hulu network, and I must say that this might be my 2nd favorite Predator movie, after the first one!
Written by Patrick Aison, directed by Dan Trachtenberg, and starring Amber Midthunder as Naru the Commanche warrior girl, Coco as her dog Sarii, Dakota Beavers as her brother Taabe and Dane DiLiegro as the Predator of the alien Yautja species, this’un occurs in the Great Plains in the year 1719.
In addition to the Yautja chap, the various Native Americans, and the group of French trappurrs, there are close encounters with numerous dangerous animals. The acting, stunts, costumes, hair & make-up, locations, FX, sound, mewsic, cinematography, and editing are as beautiful as beautiful can be!
Naru is so smart, wise, brave, strong, feisty and determined! Furthermore of great significance is that the film was shot in the English and in Commanche, and it can be viewed with either audio choice! There are also some clever nods and “Easter Eggs”, but I should not further risk spoiling the plot!
I will add that you should stick around for the surpurrise near the end of the movie’s end credits. I will give Prey he grade of the “A” as in Amber, and I hope that it will be released upon the DVD or the Blu-Ray with those language choices! I am done, and nyow here is Tara-chan to discuss—

Arigato, nya! Not to be confuzzled with Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel who used to be known as Ms. Marvel in the comics, this purrticular Ms. Marvel is Kamala Khan the 16 year-old Pakistani – American high school student and – and otaku who lives with her family in New Jersey where she wants to cosplay as Captain MArvel at the Avengers Convention, nya!
She is quite the popular supurr heroine who first appurred in Captain Marvel #14 in 2013, nya. In the six epurrode mini series which is part of the ther 4th phase of the MCU on Disney Plus, her origin and – and her supurr powers in the TV series differ from those in the comics, nya. In the TV series her power is to construct energy forms, purrhaps similar to Green Lantern, nya.
Her mewtant power is channeled through the ancient mystic bracelet that she inherited, but it is coveted by the dangerous aliens from the other dimension, nya! As if that was not enough dire trouble for Kamala, the Damage Control agency wants to arrest her, after her initial attempts to use her new powers accidentally caused the damages while rescuing people, nya!
She already had enough angst upon her plate as the teen girl with the misunderstood hobbies and the budding romance in high school while learning to drive the car and – and assisting with her brother’s wedding, nya! It is captivatingly bittersweet with great characters, fun slice – of – life aspects, thrilling action, poignant cultural developments, and – and tragic history, nya.
The wonderful cast includes Iman Vellani as Kamala; Saagar Shaikh as her brother Aamir; Zenobia Shroff as their mom Muneeba and – and Kohan Kapur as their dad Yusuef; Samina Ahmad as the grandma Sana; Mehwish Hayat as great-grandma Aisha, Fawad Khan as great-grandpa Hasan; Matt Linz as her best friend Bruno who reminds me of Peter Parker…
…Yasmeen Fletcher as Kamala’s friend Nakia at the Mosque; Laith Nakli as the Imam at the mosque; Rish Shah as Kamran who Kamala has the romantic crush upon; Minra Bucha as Kamran’s mom Najma; Laurel Marsen as Zoe the popular girl at school; Alysia Reiner the Damage Control agent… oh and there are the supurrise appurrances that i will not spoil, nya!
This wonderful mini-series has the great sets, locations, scenic art, costumes, stunts, dancing, FX, sound, mewsic, cinematography, editing and – and direction, so I will give it the high purraise grade, nya! I am curious as to when it takes place compurred to the rest of the MCU, expecially The Eternals movie, nya! I am done, so nyow here is Jenjen to tell us about the
Girls und Panzer Das Finale Part 3 Blu-ray, nya!

Hai, Ten years ago, the world was introduced to the meowrtial art of Sensho-do, the tank wargame depicted in the meowgnificent anime series Girls und Panzer!. Purrimarily ocurring at the Ooarai Girls High School on a city-sized carrier ship, the anime TV series, OVAs, movie, manga and video game of the military moe genre purrtain to Miho and her underdog team, whose success in the national tankery tournyament is vital to their school’s purrseverance.
It is one of my favoritest anime series of the past decade due to its beautiful, charming, fun, thrilling concept, story, characters, designs, animation, sounds, voices and mewsic. Das Finale are six theatrical releases which occur after the 12 epurrsodes of the TV series, the 7 OVAs, and Der Film. Since then, the Ooarai Girls have come the long way from the humble start, nyow with nine tanks, and three dozen members forming the very highly – ranked team.
Most of the opposing teams are quite likable too. Das Finale is the mini-series in which the student council & sensha-do club meowmber Momo cannot pass her college entrance exam, and whilst searching the depths of the carrier ship forthe 9th tank, the Ooarie tanker girls met the delinquent MarDet (marine corp.) girls, who wound up joining the team in time for the national tournament, in which
Ooarai has defeated
BC Freedom to face Chi-Ha-Tan Academy.

package compurrised of the single disc in the Blue plastic case. Purrsented in the 1080p High definition video of the 16×9 screen aspect ratio, the video’s DTS-HD meowster audio choices are the original Japanese and the English dub.
The very legible optional English subtitles are of the bold sans serif font, Yellow for the English subtitles, and White for the Japanese song lyrics, all with the fine Black outline, The special features are the 2 Japanese purromo spots, the TV series purreview, spot, the Das Final Part 4 teaser spot, and the textless versions of the anime’s opening and closing sequences.

Hai! I am a big fan of Hannah Washington, alias the African-American supurr heroine known as Ant, nya! Created by Mario Gully in 2004, her series has changed publishers and creative teams numerous times, in the past two decades, which has resulted in the complicated contuinity, but her current series is written, illustrated and colored by Erik Larson at Image Comics, nya!
He is purrhaps most famous for his character Savage Dragon, who guest-stars in this very issue, nya! Purriced $3.99, issue #4’s 28 pages include the uninterrupted 22 page tale “Enter the Dragon”, which was lettered by Jack Morelli, and edited by Josh Eichhorn with the color flats by Mike Toris, nya. The tale is followed by the six pages of comments, art & fan mail, nya.
Even the covers are devoid of ads, with the issue’s credits & indicia on the inside front, and the full-page B&W pic of Ant & Savage Dragon on the inside back, and the issue #5 purreview on the outside back, nya! The tale starts with the bang as Ant fight the villain known as Coldburn who has ice powers, and the villainess known as Mind Drainer, who has psionic powers, nya!
Fortunately, Ant is aided by and the chap by the name of Steven Richards a.k.a Gadget, but unfortunately they are both are amidst their identity crises and memory losses, nya. The fight is purrticularly brutal in which her left hand is severed, but her sexy blood sugar-fueled skin-tight exoskeleton creates the tempurrary replacement, nya.
That is just the sample of her astonishing formicidaeic powers, such as the speed, strength, regeneration, clinging, keen senses and her sharp antenna, nya! Whilst recovering from that incident, she tussles with the heroic Savage Dragon, who mistakes her for the enemy when she appurroaches him for help, but then they have to team up against the enemy Queen Ant, nya!
Of those 22 pages, 6 purrtain to the calmer discussion moments, but the other 16 are relentless action aplenty, nya! That includes the impurressive four full-page pics, nya! It was also quite interesting to read the fan mail, and purrticularly Larson’s goal of coalescing all of the past volumes’ story lines into the definitive continuity, nya! A Centaur’s Life manga vol. 2, nya!

Arigato! A Centaur’s Life is the delightful slice – of – life manga at the unrushed pace by Ken Murayama set in the modern Japanese world populated by centaurs, fauns, kemonomimi, angels, dragon, unicorn, snake, frog people, were – tigers and the other species. The main characters are Himeno Kimehara the centauress, her high school classmates and their families!
They include Akechi & Mitsu (satyrs), Michi (unicorn girl), Nozomi & Karasuba (ryumimi), Himeno’s niece Shino-chan, Shino’s friend Maki, Hime’s kouhai Ayaka and her maid Okino (centaurs), Inuki (catgirl), Karasuba (ryumimi) sisters Suu & Nil (snake girls), Manami (angel), her triplet sisters Chinami, Chiho, Chigusa & youngest sister Sue-chan (catgirls)!
The plots focus on activities at school, home and work plus some alien conspiracies, criminal activities and the socio-political struggles betwixt the mammalian and amphibianfolk in ther aftermath of a conflict. The manga was published as Centaur No Nayami by Tokuma Shoten in Japan, and the english edition is published in North America by Seven Seas.
Priced $13.99 in the USA & $17.99 in Canada, vol. 21’s 148 pages have chapters 168-177 of the Black & White manga, and several pages of anthropological notes. It was translated by Elina Ishikawa, adapted by Holly Kolodziejczak, lettered & retouched by Jennifer Skarupa, seniorly edited by Shanti Whitesides, in-chiefly edited by Julie Davis, and proofread by Danielle King…
…with the production management by Lissa Pattilo, the logo design by Courtney Williams and the cover design by Kris Aubin. The prepress technician is Rhiannon Rasmussen-Silverstein, the associate publisher is Adam Arnold, and the publisher is Jason DeAngelis. The tale is suggested older teens, purrhaps due to nudity, language, and certain topics.
The plots of this volume deal with post-high school plans, exploitation of indigenous people, evolution, distracted studying, grass skirts, shoji strategy, Kimodameshi at a haunted shrine, extraterrestrial invaders, centauress racing, kidnapping, babysitting,
ensoulment, and elephants! It is quite clever how the different hemes and topics interweave amongst the chapters!
The beautifully illustrated manga charmingly continues the character and plot developments, with the sparkling dialogue and extremely thorough world – building, so I will give volume 21 the grade of the “A” as in the Antarctic Snake folk, and my anticipation for the next volume! Yokohama Kaidashi Kikyo Deluxe Edition vol. 1!

Hai! Ever since I found some volumes of the original Japanese tankoban edition of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikyo, I have yearned for there to be an English translation of that beautiful manga by Hitoshi Ashinano! It is the slice – of- life science fiction tale of the sweet gynoid named Alpha who runs the cafe in the rural seaside town of Miura in the distopic future.
It is sometime after some sort of environmental disaster which has left humanity’s days numbered, but the simple life in the small commeownity goes on. Originally published in Japan by Kodansha in 2009, this first of five volumes is published in English by Seven Seas, purriced $24.99 in the USA, $32.99 in Canada, and it is rated for readers of ages 13+.
Collecting chapters 1-24, this 450 page volume is purredominatly Black & White, and measures appurroximately 8.25” x 5.875” x 1.375”; including 42 color pages, 3 pages of translation notes, 2 pages of ads, and the indica / credits page.It was translated by Shanti Whitesides, adapted by Dawn Davis, lettered by Ludwig Sacramento…

The purre-purress technician was Melanie Ujimori, and the purrint meownager was Rhiannon Rasmussen-Silverstein. Much of the tale purrtains to the normal activities of Alpha (who seems quite human) and her friends with her occasional scooter trips to travel around the purrefecture and to shop for supplies in what is left of the city of Yokhoama.
Among the recurring characters are Ojisan the elderly man who sells fresh purroduce and runs the gas station; his grandson Takahiro who regards Alpha as the older sister type; Kokone the courier who is another gynoid; the elderly lady doctor who treats the humans and the gynoids; Maki the young girl friend of Takahiro; and Misago the mysterious naked supurr feral girl!
For a scenario in which the population is amidst dystopian world that is destined to be apocalyptic, it is such the blissfully purretty, charming, pleasant tale in which much of the small town life still seems good at the leisurely pace, so I will give Yokohama Kaidashi Kikyo Deluxe Edition vol. 1 the highest purraise! The Life and Art of Dave Cockrum!

Fur shur! So like, Dave Cockrum (11 November 1943 – 26 November, 2006) was such the beloved, legendary, significant comic book artist who was especially highly regarded for his totally awesome costume, mecha & scenic designs, brilliant character concepts, and his great love for the comic book medium!
Prior to his professional career, he was a contributor to numerous fanziines, and served in the US Navy for six years in the 1960’s. In the 1970’s his early artistry was for Warren’s horror comics magazines, then he worked for DC Comics, where he was famous for his innovative Legion of Super Heroes period and then Marvel’s Uncanny X-Men in the 1970’s!
He created characters such as Nightcrawler, Storm, The Starjammers, The Futurians, Mystique, Colossus and his sister Ilyana; co-created Wildfire, Phoenix, Thunderbird, The Black Cat, Krakoa, The Shi’ar, Moira MacTaggert, and designed many beautiful costumes and comics’ covers! In the 80’s did a lot for Marvel (including Star Trek), DC. Deluxe and Lodestone!
In the 90’s for Aardwolf, Claypool, Defiant, Harris, Malibu and Valiant! His tenure at Claypool included issues of Elvira Mistress of the Dark, and Soul Searches and Company! Sadly he was of the very poor health and was often hospitalized. We were honored to meet him in the mid 2000’s at the Heroes Convention in Charlotte, and fortunate to meet his wife Paty a few times too.
So like, last month we were overjoyed to finally get the longly-awaited book The Life and Art of Dave Cockrum, which was written by Glen Cadigan who also wrote The Legion of Super-Heroes Companion and The Best of the Legion Outpost! All three books were published by TwoMorrows, which is about 2 hours from here in Raleigh, our state’s capital city, fur shur!
TwoMorrows publishes many wonderful magazines and books about comics and popular culture such as Alter Ego, Back Issue, Comic Book Artist, Brick Journal, Draw!, Kirby Collector, RetroFan,Comic Book Artist, and Modern Masters! Well, this book about Dave Cockrum is available in the $27.95 trade papurrback and the $36.00 limited hardcover edition!
Dedicated to Paty, it has the introduction by Alex Ross; the books’s layout and design was by Eric Nolen-Weathington, who was a guest of our September 2010 Mew, and there are contributions by dozens of other people! I have the 11.375” x 8.878” x .75” hardcover, which has the 160 full-color pages plus the special Black & White end papers!
So like, It is organized into 8 chronological chapters, each purrtaining to certain periods of Dave’s life, all brimming with many illustrations, photos and comments aplenty. More than 10 of the images are full-page pics! It is quite the lovely, entertaining, informative and bittersweet book, fur shur! Hai, in this monthly portion of The Mew, we commeowmorate famous catgirls, nekomusume and other kemonomimi of mythologies and popular culture, including anthropurrrmorphic ladies, monster girls and shape – shifters! who appurr i the n folklore, movies, TV, novels, comics, games, toys, mewic and advertising.
They are not limited to the feline, canine, leporids or other mamallians, but might include the avian, reptilian, aphibian, piscine, insectine, and many other types! There are those who might not actually have beasty DNA, but do have the spurrit, cat-titude or couture, whether it is therianthropy, cosplay, or purretty animal – purrint attire, who we will broadly consider to be the “honorary kemonomimi”!

Several divine kemonomimi appurred in the Meowrval Cinematic Universe this year! In the Moon Knight TV series, Hayley Konadu purrtrayed the avatar of the Egyptian feline goddess Tefnut, Diana Bermudez purrtrayed Hathor-Sekhmet’s avatar, Sabra Mubarak purrtrayed the crocodile goddess Ammit, and May Calamawy purrtrayed the Egyptian hippo goddess Tareret!
In the movie Thor: Love and Thunder, Akosia Sabet purrtrayed the goddess Bastet, who was sitting in front of Jane and Valkyrie in the Ominipotence City God Council audience, and Elsa Patakay purrtrayed the wolf woman in the flashback of the romantic scene with Thor!

Nyow we wish to commeowmerate several “honoray kemonomimi”! in some of the TV spots for Novartis’ Kisqual cancer medicine, we see the lovely seamstress wearing the purretty Gray leopurrd purrint blouse and Black pants with the Yellow tape measure!
The Price is Right TV Game show’s July 21st epurrsode was of the Christmeows in July theme, in which Showcase Showdown finalist s Molly and Suzann were among the lovely ladies wearing the cute reindeer ears and antlers! Molly was the bigger winner, with the $41,7234 worth of purrizes hat included the cash, car and Las Vegas trip!

In Bravo’s Below Deck Mediterranean TV series season 7 epurrsode 2 “I’ve Got a Sea-cret” stew Natalya Scudder and chief stew Natasha Webb briefly acted “catty”,playfully purring and pawing at the restaurant in Malta! There was also the photo of Natalya wearing cat ears!

MGA has made delightful toys including the Bratz, Moxie Girls, Lalaloopsy, LOL Surprise, Project MC2, and Na! Na! Na! In that latter purroduct line, the posable fashion dolls are so adorably cute with the hats and clothes of the animal motifs! There are accessories and playsets too, such as the Kitty-Cat Campground!

Arigato, nya! Here y’all will find the hundreds of annotated illustrations and photographs, nya! Galleries 1-8 display images by our purducer Mike Moon, whilst Guest Art Galleries 1-6 display images by other folks with their purmissions. Mike’s collaborations with other artists are peppurrred throughout the mewseum, nya!
Some of the images are sexy, and some might depict the artistic nudity, but none of them are “hentai”, nya! On our web site, the most recent pics are on the lowermost row of the cropped widdle “thumbnail” sized portions of the pics in a gallery, and you have to click upon those to see the uncropped full images, nya.

In each case, the version on the left was done with pencils, pens, paint and salt; whilst the version on the right was done with Procreate on the Ipad Pro with the Apple Pencil, nya! Now it is my honor to present five new works by Misty, starting with her illustration of “Hagane Miku”, who is the heavy metal version of the Hatsune Miku, the Vocaloid (singing synthesizer program)! Beautifully drawn with the Crayola colored pencils and PiTT artist pens upon 8.5”x11” cardstock, Hagane looks quite sexy, tough and sassy in her studded leather attire!
Then we have Misty’s pretty illustration of ”Akita Neru” who is an officially recognized derivative of Hatsune Miku! Whereas Hatsume is the Vocaloid, Akita is of the UTAU shareware counterpart! Drawn with the Crayola colored pencils and PiTT artist pens upon 8.5”x11” cardstock, Akita is rather peppy and pretty, but seems perplexed by something on her phone!
After that is Misty’s illustration of “Zentreya” https://twitter.
Fourthly is Misty’s latest delightful illustration of “Omhi Tara”, who is her husband’s Final Fantasy XIV video game character Omhi Tara, the petite Miqo’te catgirl and Dragoon class warrior of the Keepers of the Moon Clan! Perhaps y’all have seen the prior pics of her? This’un is is of the chibi style, and parodies the “Spy x Family” anime!
Lastly but not leastly is the photo of Misty’s wonderfully hand-made “Lum Invader” plushie doll! Lum invader is the iconic alien Oni princess in the tiger stripe bikini who stars in Rumiko Takahsashi’s Urusei Yatsura manga and anime! This adorably cute chibi-style doll is made of felt and stands approximately 10” tall. Kawaii!
