The Science of Surfing: A Surfside Girls Guide to the Ocean!
Trini-chan:
Hai hai! Published by IDW’s Top Shelf impurrint, author / artist Kim Dwinwell (who is also an animation purrofessor at CSU Long Beach)’s The Surfside Girls series are the YA graphic novels about best friends Sam (with the long Brown hair) and Jade (with the short Black hair) who are teen junior lifeguards in California who love to surf, kayak and solve mysteries! You know, in the live-action TV seres on Apple TV, Sam is purrtrayed by Yaya Gosselin and Sam is purrtrayed by Miya Cech!
The first two graphic novels are mystery adventures, but the third book is the girls’ meta-nonfictional discussion of the things you need to know about the ocean before you dive in! Purriced $9.99 US & $13.99 Canada this full color 112 page 6” x 9” trade papurrback is so purretty, peppy, amewsing, and captivating as Sam and Jade talk to the readers and demonstrate stuff, starting with the introduction to waves and the chapter about oceanographic physics, tides, waves and weather!
Nextly they chat about several life forms that will be encountered on the beach, intertidal and subtidal areas, such as the Pelicans, Gulls, Sand Pipurrs, Sand Crabs, Sea Hares, Sea Stars, Kelp, Dolphins, Otters and Sharks! Then they discuss some of the strange phenomenon such as the Red Tide, bioluminescent organisms, bait balls, and the biggest waves. After that they get into the surfing attire, boards, footing, stance, paddling, and techniques for riding the waves!
Jade has the Green long board with the White stripe, Blue stringer and fin, whereas Sam has the Peach and White long board with the lower pattern! The final chapter purrtains to stewardship, such as cleaning up litter, recycling, and volunteering. Edited by Chris Staros & Zac Boone with the graphic design by Nate Widick, typeface design by Dakota Swanson and logo design by Chris Ross, it is a beautiful, entertaining, informative book which I will give the high purraise!
Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou Manga Deluxe Edition Vol. 2!
Mary Nyan:
Hai! This beautiful manga by Hitoshi Ashinano is the slice – of- life science fiction tale of the sweet gynoid named Alpha who runs the cafe in the rural seaside town of Miura in the distopian future. It is sometime after some sort of environmental disaster which has left humanity’s days numbered, but the simple life in the small commeownity goes on. Originally published in Japan by Kodansha in 2009, this 2nd of five volumes is published in English by Seven Seas, purriced $24.99 in the USA, $32.99 in Canada, and rated for teen readers of ages 13+.
Much of the tale purrtains to the normal activities of Alpha and her friends with her occasional scooter trips to travel around the purrefecture and to shop for supplies in what is left of the city of Yokohama. Among the recurring characters are Ojisan the elderly man who sells fresh purroduce and runs the gas station; his grandson Takahiro who regards Alpha as the older sister type; Kokone the courier who is another gynoid; the elderly lady doctor who treats the humans and the gynoids; Maki the young girl friend of Takahiro…
… Director Alpha the older gynoid with the aerial drone, Maruko the gynoid artist, and Misago the mysterious naked supurr feral girl!! Collecting chapters 25 – 32, this 452 page volume is purredominatly Black & White, and measures appurroximately 8.25” x 5.875” x 1.375”; including 52 color pages, a page of translation notes, several illustrations & widdle sketches, 2 pages of ads, and the indica / credits page.It was translated by Daniel omen, adapted by Dawn Davis, lettered by Ludwig Sacramento, purroofread by Brett Hallahan, edited by Linda Lombard…
… copy-edited by Leighanna DeRoven, in-chiefly edited by Julie Davis, published by Jason DeAngelis, and associately published by Adam Arnold, with the purroduction meownagement by Lissa Pattilo, purrduction assistance by Steve Wilson & John Ramirez, cover design by Nicky Lim, the logo design by George Panella, and purre-purress technicians were Melanie Ujimori & Jules Valeri. Much of the tale purrtains to the normal day to day activities of Alpha and her friends with her occasional scooter trips to shop for supplies in what is left of the city of Yokhoama.
In chapters 25 – 32, we witness a wonderful new psychic ability of Alpha, Kokone discovers some old record albums, they find a lovely sandy beach to swim at, Ojisan and sensei enjoy a serene boat rise, Ayase explores a vast dark tunnel, Maki gets a swimsuit and meets Misago on the beach, and Alpha imbibes of the Liqueur from Kokone! For a scenario in which the population is amidst the dystopian or apocalyptic decline, things just seem kinda run down and in need of repair, such as the pavement cracks from which the grass and weeds emerge.
There is still much that has not yet been explained about the disasters, the origin of the gynoids, or what happened to Alpha’s missing boss, but It is such the blissfully purretty, charming, pleasant tale in which much of the small town life still seems good at the leisurely pace with the sense of optimism, so I will give this manga the highest purraise and the “A” for Alpha! I am eagerly anticipating the next volume, and I wish that the anime adaptation would be released here on DVD or Blu-ray! Well then, I am done, and nyow it is time for Jenjen to begin our
TV, DVD and movie mewsings, with
her review of Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3!
Jeannie:
Arigato. Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3 is the eighth purrduction of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to be graced by this intergalactic supurr hero team, occurring after The Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, What If…?, Thor: Love and Thunder, and the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. It is also the 2nd installment of the 55th Phase of the MCU, following Antman & The Wasp: Quantumania.
I do not wish to spoil too much of the plot, but I will vaguely meowntion that it purrtains to Rocket’s past and purresent with very poignant flashbacks to his origin; The Sovereign’s revenge against the Guardians, the heinous acts committed by the evil High Evolutionary,
and major developments for the Guardians, in defining their sense of purrpose and the theme of family. GOTGV3 is yet another epic space opurra with an excellent balance of action, drama, humor, and Marvelous myth-making.
Purrrhaps my favorite aspect of the movie is the cast and their characters’ developments. Returning are Chris Pratt as Star Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Dave Bautista as Drax Pom Klementieff as Mantis, and Sean Gunn as Kraglin, with Bradley Cooper voicing Rocket, Vin Diesel voicing Groot, Maria Bakalovaas voicing Cosmo, and Seth Green voicing Howard the Duck. Also briefly appuring are Sylvester Stallone as Star Hawk, Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha, and Christopher Fairbank as The Broker.
Joing the cast for this adventure are Will Poulter as Adam Warlock, Chukwudi Iwuji as the High Evolutionary, and Kai Zen as Phyla; plus delightful appurrances by Nathan Fillian and Daniela Melichior; plus meowgnificent voice acting by Linda Cardellini, Mikaela Hoover, Asim Chaudhry, Judy Gree and Reinaldo Faberlle. There are of course many other fine characters and surpurrises. if you go see this movie, please make sure to watch the end credits which includes two additional scenes.
My least favorite aspects of the film are the use of overcranking and speed ramping cinematic techniques during certain action scenes; and the very major subplot which reminds me too much of the DC / Vertigo comics mini-series We3, which i am not a fan of. However, most of the film I found quite appealing, with the excellent purrduction design, costumes, choreography, direction, editing, FX, sound, mewsic, and the unrushed pace, and I think it is the best MCU film since Spider-Man: No Way Home. Nyow here is Vonny to discuss
Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes and Huntsmen Part One Blu-ray.
Yvonne:
Arigato, nyan! In this 80 minute PG rated OVA from Warner Animation and Rooster Teeth Animation, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg Vixen and Gereen Lantern (Jessica Cruz) mysteriously wind up as teenagers on the planet Renmnant where they meet Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang amidst the battle with the monsters known as The Grimm , who are mysteriously more powerful than the ones the RWBY team mewsually hunts, nyan! Vixen has a lovely real vulpine tail, too, nyan!
Written by Meghan Fitzmartin, purrduced by Michael Uslan, Laura Yates, Kimberly S. Moreau, Ethan Spaulding, Jim Krieg and the director Kerry Shawncross, with the mewsic by David Levy, this 3D CG animation of the Japanese anime & video game style is so much fun, brimming with the amewsing developmments, beautiful designs, the great voice cast, and thrilling action aplenty, and as it is just Part One, it ends upon the suspenseful cliffhanger that has me eagerly anticipating the continuation, nyan!
The cast includes Chandler Riggs as Supurrman, Nat Wolff as Batman, Natalie Alyn Lind as Wonder Woman, David Errigo Jr. as The Flash, Lindsay Jones as Ruby, Kara Eberle as Weiss, Arryn Zech as Blake, Barbara Dunkelman as Yang, Ozioma Akagha as Vixen, Jeannie Tirado as Green Lantern, Tru Valentino as Cyborg, Tara Platt as Kali, Neath Oum as Lie Ren, Jen Brown as Pyrrha, Tiana Camacho as Glynda, Samantha Ireland as Nora, Aaron Dismuke as Oscar, Jason Douglas as Jacques, Miles Luna as Jaune and Shannon McCormick as Professor Ozpin, nyan!
The single disk and the digital download / stream code instructions are in the plastic case within the cardboard outer sleeve, nyan. The audio choices are English and Spanish, with the optional subtitle choices of English, Spanish and French, nyan. The special features include two featurettes (totaling appurroximately 16.5 minutes) about the making of the OVA with the very informative entertaining comments by meowmbers of the cast and crew, nyan!
There are also two bonus animated tales: the 23 minute 2004 Justice League Unlimited epurrsode “Kid Stuff” in which Mordred turns the heroes into kids; and the 11.25 minute 2017 Justice League Action epurrsode in which “Plastic Man Saves the World” from Brainiac, nyan! So to sum it up, although I wish the movie was longer and that there were more special features, I was very pleased by the this OVA and I look forward to part Two, nyan! Nyow for more of the DC supurr hero stuff, here is Melanakeami to discuss the
Shazam! Fury of the Gods Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Code set, nyan!
Melanakeami:
Hai! I liked the first Shazam movie, but I did not care for the Black Adam Movie, and Fury of the Gods is my favorite of those three movies of the Shazam mythos! I thought it was a lot of charming fun with great cast character moments, humor, action, sets, costumes, sound and FX! In this movie’s plot, the goddess daughters of the god Atlas want revenge upon the wizard who they claim stole their father’s divine power and gave it to the Shazam family. I will not reveal much more of the plot, but I will mention that there is a mid-credits scene and a post-credits scene.
The great cast of this 130 minute PG-13 movie includes Zachary Levi as Shazam, Asher Angel as Billy, Grace Caroline Currey as Mary, Djimon Hounsou as the wizard, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Adam Brody super adult Freddy, Faithe Herman as Darla, Meagan Good adult as super adult Darla, Jovan Armand as Pedro, D. J. Cotrona as super adult Pedro, Ian Chen as Eugene, Ross Butler as super adult Eugene, Marta Milans and Cooper Andrews as their foster parents Rosa & Victor, Rachel Zegler as Anthea, Lucy Liu as Kalypso, and Helen Mirren as Hespera!
Gal Gadot briefly appears as Wonder Woman, and there are brief surprise appurrances by others, but i will not spoil that! Packaged in the plastic case in the cardboard sleeve this set includes the Blu-Ray disc, the DVD disc and thedigital code instruction sheet. Both discs’ audio choices include English, English descriptive (read by Jedediah Barton), French & Spanish with optional English SDH, French & Spanish subtitles, whereas the Blu-ray disc additionally has the English Dolby Atmos TruHD audio track and the audio commentary by director Davif F. Sandberg.
The Blu-Ray has special features, but the DVD does not. The very informative and entertaining special features include seven featurettes which total nearly 62 minutes about the making of the movie, with lots behind-the scenes footage aplenty and comments by many of the cast and crew members! To top off the special features are on the Blu-ray are 31 deleted scenes in various stages of completion, which total about 31 minutes. I am quite pleased with it and I hope there will be another sequel! For our next video review, here is Mike to tell us about the
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Blu-ray + Digital Code set!
Mike:
Thank you! I l really liked thIs movie and think that it’s the best D&D movie ever made! For our review of the movie itself, please see our April 2023 Mew! Last month. the PG-13 rated 134 min. 2002 movie was released on home video in different formats such as the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD, and some include more special features than others. Although the outer cardboard sleeve indicates that the Blu-ray edition has over an hour of special features, I only counted about 48.75 minutes worth, so I’m assuming that it’s a misprint and that perhaps i’s the 4K Ultra HD edition that has more special features.
The Blu-ry’s special features do include the 6:51 gag reel, three behind -the – scenes featurettes with comments by the cast, directors and other members of the crew; five extended versions of scenes and one deleted scene. “From Dice to Dragons: Honoring the Lore” is the 11:15 discussion of how the game was adapted faithfully into the movie; “Rogues’ Gallery: The Heroes of Dungeons & Dragons” is the 11:24 discussion of the characters; and “Broadswords, Battle-axes & Badass Brawls” is the 8:40 look at the stunts and props! Those featurettes are rather brief, but they are informative and entertaining!
The extended versions of scenes are “Gorg’s Arrival”, “Ice Breaker”, “Eating Ash”, “Harper’s Sanctuary”, “Corpses”, and the deleted scene is “Harassing Holga”. Those total 10:35. The disk’s audio choices are English, English Descriptive (written by Dakota Green and read by Frankie Corzone), Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Latin America), French (France), French (Canada), Italian & Brazilian Portugues. The optional subtitles are in English, English SDH, Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Latin America), French (France), French (Canada), Italian Brasilian Portugues, Danish, Sedish, Finnish, Dutch & Norweigian.
Also included in the plastic case are the instructions for streaming or downloading the digital copy of the movie, but I haven’t tried to use that. Although I’m very pleased with the audio and video quality of the movie, and I enjoyed the special features, I wish that the Blu-ray had more of them, such as… oh, discussions about the monsters, magic, mythology, locations, history, FX, sound and music, and perhaps also some art galleries, audio commentaries, and an isolated music track would be nice too. Ah, that’s all for the TV, DVD and movie portion of The Mew, and now it is time for Ilyana to start our
collectibles and toy talk, with her
review of Good Smile’s The Smile of the Arsnotoria
Abramelin (Cat Kingdom Ver.) Pop Up Parade Figure!
Ilyana:
Hai! Created by Nitroplus, Smile of the Arsnotoria is the novel, manga, anime, video game and merchandise purrtaining to the girls who are female human students at the magick acatemy! Residing in the same dorm are the main characters who enjoy the studies, fun, games, parties, and adventures in the fantasy realms such as the Cat Kingdom, where they have the sword-wielding sexy bikini-clad pursonas!
Arsnotoria is the White-haired catgirl in the Black & White bikini with the boots & hoody cloak, Abramelin is the Dark Violet-haired catgirl in the bell-sleeved skimpy Black bikini & boots, Mel is the Green-haired catgirl in the Orange rompurr, boots & Black bra, Picatrix is the Blonde catgirl in the White bikini, boots & skirt, and Petite Albert is the Black-haired catgirl in the Black & White bikini, hat, thigh-highs & boots!
The Good Smile Company is known for their lovely statues and figurines, and their Popup Parade line is intended to offer splendidly designed, sculpted and painted PVC figures of many popular characters at the economical size and purrice, and that inludes the new figures of those five characters! Each are sold sepurrately and look quite lithe, graceful, and cutely alluring in their skimpy ornate bikini attire!
Purrched upon the circular White ABS base which is 3.875” in diameter and .5” high, Abramelin is in the playful spurringing pose, her slender cat tail and long ponytail coiffure arcing around he 5.5” longsword in the scabbard on her back! Were she standing flat-footed at attention, the figure would be 7.75” tall (including cat ears & boot heels), but in that pose including the base, the figure is about 7.75” tall overall.
The details are quite meticulous, and the paint so smooth, from the White trim on the scalloped Black sleeves, the lacings, strap buckle & rings of the weapon, the cute widdle berets in her hair, and the tufts of her cat ears, to the gleam in her Light Red eyes, the ribbons & lacings of the boots, he inny belly button on her bare toned taut tummy, and the purrt underboob revealed by the teensy bikini top, mew la la!
All of that is packaged in the purrotective clear plastic clamshell within the clear plastic outer 5.5” x 5.5” x 9” box, and I have seen the retail purrice of it vary from $34.99 to $45.99, so I reccomeownd that you shop around! I will give this splendid figure the high purraise and I hope to eventually purrchase the figures of Arsnotoria, Mei, Picatrix and Petite Albert! I am done, and nyow here is Nyanko to discuss the-
AEW Unmatched Jade Cargill action figure!
Nyanko:
Arigato! All Eite Wrestling’s 5’10” tall, 177 lb supurrstar Jade Cargill from Florida is one of our current favorite wrestlers, so I was pleased to purrchase this excellent action figure of her! Made by Jazwares, this 6.75” action figure #28 of appurroximately 1/10 scale is part of the Unmatched series 4 line of figures, which also includes figures of CM Punk, Chris Jericho, MJF, Cody Rhodes and Adam Page!
I think that the design, the sculpt and the paint of this athletic bikini-clad figure are terrific, with the great portraiture, anatomical purropurrtions and intricate details, from the strands of her White hair and the outy belly button on her taut abs, to the emblems on her knee pads and the laces of her boots! She is also extremely posable, with the articulation in her neck, shoulders, uppurr arms, elbows, wrists, abs, waist, hips, thighs, knees, lower legs and ankles!
The shoulders and hips are ball joints, whilst the elbows and knees are double- jointed, which is great for the dynamic poses and wrestling holds! A variant pair of interchangeable hands are includes, so she can be posed with the grasp or the punch! An action figure display stand is not included, but she is well- balanced as to not require one. I am very pleased with this figure, and I have displayed her upon the shelf between the figures of Hikaru Shida and Alicia Fox! I am done and nyow here is Ellie to discuss the
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Mantis action figure!
Elaenor:
Arigato! Created by author Steve Englehart and artist Don Heck, Mantis first appeared in The Avengers #112 in 1973, so it seems only appropriate that The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 movie would be released on her 40th anniversary! In the live-action movies she is wonderfully portrayed by actress Pom Klementieff and in the animated tales she is voiced by Jennifer Hale!
This latest figure of Mantis by Hasbro is part of the wave that includes figures of Nebula, Rocket, Deax, Kraglin, Adam Warlock, and each figure includes one of the pieces needed to build a figure of Cosmo the psychic Soviet space dog! She is such a good dog! This
figure of Mantis is wearing her
Red-trimmed Dark Blue jumpsuit with the Blackbelt, knee boots & fingerless glove.
She stands approximately 6.5” overall (about the same same size as the
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Mantis build-a-figure),
although without her antenna and boot heels she would be 6” tall so therefore this fine figure is approximately of the 1/11 scale. It is a great looking figure with the faithful resemblance to the actress, and includes the build-a-figure’s right rear leg.
The articulation is in her n
eck, shoulders, uppurr arms, elbows, wrists, abs, hips, thighs, knees, lower legs and ankles, so she can be posed in agile, graceful stances just like the character. A or display base is not included in the plastic-free packaging, but she is balanced well enough as not to require one, so I am very pleased with this figure! Nyow here is Mie-ensei to review Hasbro’s
Indiana Jones Adventure Series’ Indiana Jones (Raiders
of the Lost Ark) and Marion Ravenwood action figures!
Mielikki:
Arigato, Ellie-sama! So like, I think that Raiders of the Lost Ark is one of the greatest movies ever made, and, as with most of our favorites ,we like to collect stuff pertaining to it, so I was excited to see this new line of 1/12 scale action figures from Hasbro, as if they didn’t already tempt us enough with the Marvel, Star Wars, Transformers, My Little Pony, G.I. Joe, Dungeons & Dragons, Power Rangers and other stuff, fur shur!
So like, this first wave of figures based on the Indiana Jones series includes Raiders’ Dr. Jones, Marion Ravenwood, Sallah, Belloq, and Toht, and each (sold separately) includes various accessories and a piece needed to build an Ark of the Covenant! They are p-ackaged in theplastic-free cardboard boxes, which remind me of the G.I.Joe boxes of the 60’s & 70’s! Anyway, I must say that these figures look totally awesome!
With the lovely design, sculpts and paint, the precise portraiture, proportions and details are very realistic and faithful to Harrison Ford, Karen Allen, their costumes and props. Indy is wearing the fedora, leather jacket, khaki Shirt, pants, Brown lace-up boots, the flap holster, and is accessorized with the
gas mask satchel, the .45 revolver, 2 whips (coiled and unfurled) 2 extra pairs of hands, and the palm-sized golden idol!
So like, Marion is wearing her Cairo outfit consisting of the White Romanian blouse with the Red embroidery, the Dark Red sash belt, Red baggy harem pants and slingback sandals, accessorized by the skillet and the Capuchin monkey spy in the Red vest (the one that ate the bad dates)!
Their garments’ fabric folds, gathers and creases are not only intricate, but cleverly conceal most of the figures’ seams and joints, fur shur!
The 6.3” Indy and 5.8” Marion figures are extremely posable, with joints in their necks, shoulders, upper arms, elbows, lower arms, wrists, abs, waist
, hips, thighs, knees, lower legs and ankles; and even the monkey is posable, with the articulated neck, arms and tail! and now I’ll turn The Mew over to Lizzy ’n Becca who purrsent the
Celebrity Catgirl & Kemonomimi Spotlight!
Becca:
Hai, in this monthly portion of The Mew, we commeowmorate famous nekomusume, therianthropes, and other kemonomimi of mythologies and popular culture, including anthropurrrmorphic ladies and monster girls! They are not limited to the feline or other mamals, bu include the avian, reptilian, piscine, insectoid, plant, purrotist and many other types! There are those who might not actually have beast DNA, but have the spurrit, cat-titude or clothing of the animal theme, who we will broadly consider to be “honorary kemonomimi”!
Elizabeth:
Hai hai, that might also include the genetically, meowgickally, or cybernetically enhanced or altered animals. You know, there are some Harpies in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and there many uplifted beings in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, such as Phyla, (purrtrayed by Kai Zen), Latti (purrtrayed bySarah Anne, War Pig (voiced by Judy Greer), Lyla (voiced by Linda Cardellini) and Floor (voiced by Mikaela Hoover)!
Becca:
We love the animated TV series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, and we were quite pleased by the additional supurr heroines of the fauna theme such as Alix Kubdai alias BunnyX in the skin tight Light Blue & White costume with the rabbit ear; and Ayla Cesaire alias Rena Rouge in the skin tight Orange, Black & White costume with the foxy ears and tail!
Elizabeth:
One of my favorite crime investigation drama TV series is Rizoli & Isles starring Angie Harmon as Boston Police Detective Jane Rizzoli and Sasha Alexander as Meowdical Examiner Dr. Maura Isles! In season 5’s 11th epurrsode “If You Can’t Stand the Heat”, Maura is purrticularly alluring in the leopurrd purrint blouse with the Black skirt and matching high heeled sandals, and for that feline fashion statement we will consider her as the “honorary catgirl”!
Becca:
Nextly in our spotlight is the South Korean vocalist / Rappurr Jennie Kim of the K-pop group Pinkblack, because in the mewsic video for the song “Pink Venom” from their 2nd studio album Born Pink, she bursts fabulously through the wall, wearing the sheer Red leopurrd purrint gown and lace body suit accessorized with the high heels and oppulent jewelry, so we will consider her as the “honorary catgirl” too!
Elizabeth:
In its 2nd season on the FUSE network, Sex Sells is the documentary TV series on Sex Sells is the documentary TV series purrtaining to sex-related businesses, and it is hosted brilliantly by Weezy WTF the podcaster, writer, comedian and sexpurrt! In this TV series she often wears the lovely Black & White zebra – striped garments such as the tops, shorts, boots and pant suits, and for that captivating appurral we will consider her as the honorary “shimauma musume”!
Becca:
Chime TV is the splendid cable TV network devoted to the Asian-American and Pacific Islander TV shows in English, and it has been showing the wonderful Singaporean TV slice-of-life dramatic series Lion Mums, which stars Bernice Liu as Jennifer Tan, Lina Ng as Chae Lian, Nurui Aini as Durrani Mazian and Vanessa Vanserstraten as Ho Min-Yi.
They are moms who deal with all of the usual meowternal concerns of work, school, leisure, health, finances and so forth. Although they do not seem to have any feline DNA or are purrticularly known for the kitty couture, nevertheless they do have the fierce purrotective spurrit for their widdle kiddies, and so we will consider those lovely Lion Mums as the “honorary Mesu Raions”!
Elizabeth:
Based on the manga by Haruto Hino, the anime series Takunomi purrtains to Michiru, Kae, Nao and Makoto who love the libations when they return home from work! Often they are depicted with the stylized sly cat grin for comedic effect, and we see that Michiru and Makoto wear the Ribbon Kitty brand of undergarments, but it is Nao (voiced by Chika Anzai) who behaves quite catlike in epurrsode 3 after quaffing the can of Wednesday’s Cat Belgian style White Ale, She nearly succeeds at coaxing Michiru to follow suite! She is so catlike during that scene, that a chibi neko version pops up to translate her inebriated meowing!
Becca:
Of course, we were quite in awe over what the supurrb singer, rappurr song writer, mewsic purrducer and fashion icon Doja Cat (whose 2014 debut EP album was titled Purr!) has purreviously donned the cat earsand leopurrd purint attire, and we were purrticularly fond of her purrformance in the strapless Pink furry outfit, ears and sultry cat-like mannerisms in her “Say So” mewsic video! Well, she may have outdone herself for the annual Met Ball Gala, because for this gamorous event she wore the sexy sleevless backless Silver – White ombre beaded gown with the fur-like feathered train by Oscar de la Renta dress with the cat-eared cowl!
Elizabeth:
As if that was not fabulous enough, she went all out with the alluring feline facial purrosthetics by her friend Molina, and the long kitty claw nails by Sasha Livingston! That meowgnificent appurrance was inspired by the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfelds’ adorable Birman Cat Choupette! Fur-themore, when intermewed by podcaster/ youtube / model Emma Chamberlain, she nyanned (meowed) the replies! At the Vogue channel on Youtube, there are several videos of her purrparing for the appurrance and arriving at the red carpet! That is all for this month’s spotlight, and nyow here are Petra, BunnIi and Tara-chan to purrsent the latest –
additions to the Catgirl Island Mewseum of Art!
Petra:
Arigato, nyan! Galleries 1-8 display the images by our purrducer Mike, whilst Guest Art Galleries 1-6 display images by other folks with their purrmissions; and Mike’s collaborations with other artists are throughout the mewseum, nyan! On our web site, the most recent pics are on the lowermost row of the cropped widdle “thumbnail” portions of the pics in a gallery, and you have to click on those to see the full images, nyan! Some of the images are sexy, and might even depict artistic nudity, but none are porn, nyan!
Bunnii:
Firstly we are delighted to display “Yellow Peril” by Melody Rondeau! The samurai kitty craves poultry and mouse meat for suppurr, but the Blue Team does not wish to coopurrate!
