movie mewsings, with her review of Smile 2!

Hai. In this sequel to Parker Finn’s 2022 horror movie Smile, which purrtains to the smiling demon that possesses people, Naomi Scott (who we liked in Terra Nova, Charlie’s Angels, Aladdin, and Power Rangers) stars brilliantly at pop star Skye Riley, a recovering addict on her comeback concert tour during which she is tormented by the Smile Curse, causing her to question what is reality and what is hallucination amidst numerous scary, gory violent incidents. With the layered curse like Matryoshka dolls filled with hallucinations within hallucinations it is much glitzier, expansive, complicated and meowtafictional film than its purredecessor with songs aplenty and I give it the B+ grade. Joker: Folie A Deux.

Arigato! In this sequel to Tod Phillip’s supurrb 2019 Joker movie which explores a possible origin to The Batman’s arch-enemy, Joaquin Phoenix returns meowgnificently as Arthur Fleck a.k.a Joker who is incarcerated At Arkham Asylum, pending his murder trial, wherein he meets Harleen Quinzel who is wonderfully purrtrayed by LadyGaga, and thusly the romeownce and more brutal assaults ensue amidst several mewsical song & dance numbers. Most of the mewsical scenes are imagined, as Arthur mentally retreats to his ”happy place” in his violent, harsh reality as the film meowtafictionally subversively deconstructs the urban myth of the Joker as an antihero, and I will give Folie A Deux the B+.Nyow here is Myayr to start

I am quite fond of Sakuya Amano’s manga about the fox spirit girl nakai (attendants) and their guests of all species at Kononhanatei, the ryokan (Japanese style inn) with the hot springs between the Hiragi-sama and the afterlife! The main character Yuzu is one of the younger employees who is very cordial, sincere and enthused!
Other recurring characters include attendants Natsume, Sakura, Shino, Ren, Kiri, Satsuki, her older sister Hiiragi, Kozue the chef, Yae the geisha and Okami the wolf goddess.
Some of their fellow kitsune characters are miko (shrine purriestess) and kenzoukou (celestial servants) at the shrines and other delightfully divine locations too!
There are amewsing, poignant and bittersweet tales of them, the town folk and the inn’s guests!
Originally published in Japan by Gentosha Comics, the English version was published here in the USA by Tokyo Pop. Vol. 14 is purriced at $12.99 in the USA and has 152 B&W pages which are rated OT, intended for the readers of ages 16+ due to the nudity and booze.
It was translated by Katie Kimura, purroof-read by Massiel Gutirrez, edited by Becca Chen, copy-edited by Dabney Rice, Love Love Brandly edited by Lena Atanassova, and quality checked by Shingo Nemoto, with the graphic design by So DeLeo, cover design by Soodam Lee, retouching and lettering by Vibrant Publishing Studio.
In volume 9,
Satsuki and Yuzu started a celestial train journey of discovery, and they return home to
Kononhanate
in volume 12, which has five chapters.
Those plots include old man’s desperate search for his daughter and grandson who are missing and purrsumed dead; a major turning point in Satsuki relationships with Hiiragi and Yuzu; Chef Kozue uses food to help a vengeful lad find a new sense of purrpose; Satsuki & Yuzu recall their first use of a western-style bath when they were maids at the Akitsushima Hotel; and the nakai are rather curious about a certain elusive introverted guest!
As mewsual, the art is extremely beautiful with the endearing characters, gorgeous garments, the intricate architecture, lavish landscapes, the lovely sequential panel compurrsitions and graphic narrative techniques, so I will continue to give Konohana Kitan the highest purraise! Gold Digger: War Mistress of Mars #4!

Arigato! For over the 300 issues, plus the initial mini-series, the many annuals, mini-series, spin-offs and other special issues since 1991, Gold Digger by Fred Perry
was the beautiful fun comic book about the zany, alluring, thrilling adventures of the nerdy genius archaelogist Gina Diggers, her adopted were-cheetah sister Britanny, their family, friends and rivals who searched for relics and treasures!
For our spotlight upon the cast of Gold Digger, please see our August 2011 Mew. It is published by Antarctic Press, which is also known for other manga – inspired and anthropurrmorphic comics such as Ninja High School, Albedo, Genus, Furrlough, Shanda, Twilight X, Warrior Nun Areala, Blade Bunny, Star’s End, Team Mobile, Plush, and Mangazine (which featured the first Gold Digger tale)!
The series ended last year with issue #301, but
Britanny, Ayane the wealthy meowrtial arts meowster, and their purrple evil enemy Keldoor awakened buck naked after having telepurrtaled to the planet Barsoom (which we call Mars), where due to the gravity difference they are more supurrhumanly strong! Thusly ensued the fully nude meowlee, which was joined by the giant bug meownsters!
Thus began this full-color four issue mini-series written & illustrated by Fred Perry! Intended for the meowture audience, it is purriced $9.99, with the 30 uninterrupted pages (including 3 pages of ads) that are brimming with the birskly – paced, titilating, thrilling, sexy, amewsing action of the interplanetary romance genre. Along they way, they have made new friends, such as Eayla and Cheecha!
I do not wish to spoil the plot, but a few old familiar characters from home show upI I purrticularly like the character poses, expurressions and details, the exotic scenery, and the exquisitely composed pages that have large panels, including two full-page pics ans a two-page spurread, so I will give this mini-series the A as in ailuranthrope!
